Robert “Bob” “Hatz” Hatzer, 74, of Temperance, MI, died peacefully at home on March 12, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Bob was born January 18, 1942, in Streeter, IL to Paul and Marie “Maize (Fescko) Hatzer.  He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret “Peggy” Leheney in 1962. She preceded him in death in 2001. Bob worked for 42 years for Owens Illinois and Libbey Glass in various locations.  He retired in 2002.  He belonged to the Ruskin FL Moose, the Brooklyn, MI Eagles, The Southern Michigan Sportsman Club and Christ the King Catholic Church.  Bob enjoyed winters in Florida and summers at the cottage on Sand Lake in the Irish Hills. He loved the water, boating, and collecting coins.

He is survived by his children, James (Diane) Hatzer and Julie Hatzer;  grandsons, Mike and Matt Hatzer; Sister, Kathy (Dave) Moore; special cousin, Judy Stone and loving companion and caregiver, Karen Larrow; extended family, Rob and Kelly DeCola and Si’Onna Wright and the entire Lewis family, plus many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be at 9:00 am, Monday, March 21, 2016, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am.  Interment will be private. We would like to thank Doctor Kasunic, the Toledo Clinic Cancer Center and all the care givers at the Hickman Cancer Center and Promedica Hospice. Thank you all for guiding us through this journey.  Also, special thanks to care giver, Bill Labo.  Memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice or Christ the King Catholic Church.  Arrangement by the Michael W.
